It’s my birthday month, AKA Carynapalooza!! In a couple of weeks I’ll be 36. THIRTY-EFFIN-SIX.
It feels super strange to me because I distinctly remember my parents being 36, and I am not nearly as awesome or responsible as they already were at my age… but I’m trying. 🙂
Have you ever read The Lord of the Rings? In the first book, The Fellowship of the Ring, Tolkien describes the way Hobbits celebrate their birthdays. They invite everyone over, and all the guests get presents. Hobbits love giving and getting presents—I guess you could say it’s their love language.
My love language is normally quality time. I love spending time with my friends and family, and I usually like to throw a Hobbit-sized (which ironically in this context means large) birthday party so I can get some QT with my loved ones, as many as possible all at once.
